I grew up in South Africa and immigrated to beautiful Canada 4 years ago. I am married to a wonderful wife who currently focuses on a career in medicine. I’ve worked in the Non-Profit sector before becoming a full-time Dad to our busy daughter. My hobbies include cooking, playing classical guitar, reading, photography, writing this blog, and spending time with family at home or via Skype abroad.
It is important to me to have whole food in our home that is original and fresh. And above all, nutritious and yummy! I know it’s hard to avoid the odd take-out snack or lunch, frankly sometimes it feels impossible. However I am determined to master the to-go snack jar and have the freezer stocked with home cooked food that is ready-to-eat for when there is no plan, or energy left, to cook a meal from scratch. I believe it is all in the planning. A colleague of mine used to repeat the 5 P’s back to me whenever I felt like failing at something: ‘Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance’
I will share my best experiences here for those who are interested in learning from and hopefully contributing to my adventures.
Thank you for visiting!
